Christmas Eve in Cusco, Peru
Christmas Eve was unbelievable.
Christmas Eve was unbelievable. All the volunteers at the Hostel grouped together to make a feast. We bought a turkey, had multiple salads, sides, the whole nine. Because we could not cook the turkey at the hostel, we ended up prepping it there, but then brought it to the Baker, he cooked it for us, then we walked it 15 blocks back to the hostel. We spent an hour hanging out with the baker and his 4 year old daughter, Stephanie, who was adorable and played around with us.
We drank and toasted as we were cooking the dinner, and then we finally ate around midnight. It was well worth the wait; THE best turkey I’ve ever had in my life. All the food was great.
I bought a bottle of Scotch as a Christmas present for myself. Needless to say it was gone by the end of the night. After dinner, we went around and shared our Secret Santa with everyone.
