Happy Gratitude Day
So it is a little after noon on Thanksgiving day and I need to tell you all something. I slept in, was able to shower and get dressed and I was just about to walk out the door to meet up with my friends and family, have a few drinks, relax, and eat myself into a small coma. But before I could walk out the door to make this day, I pulled out my laptop and needed to start typing.
Where I’ve Been
I took a little hiatus from posting on this blog; I felt like I had nothing to share- although my life has been fantastic and it is well worth sharing, time to start up again. In a nut shell, I got a job selling yachts, the company is great with many perks, the main one being I can take a boat anywhere, anytime, any shape or size.
“Oh Allen, you want to take the 41 foot, Brand Spanking New, Sport Yacht out for the day with 5 of your buddys, in international waters for several hours, then, anchor up on a sand bar with 20 other boats, party the day away, and just make sure the boat is cleaner then when you took it; SURE, GO HEAD”
Yeah, that was my summer.
Black Lab Media Group has been rockin’ and rollin’ too. Been working hard to get some more clients and I’ve been in negotiation with a few big deals(fingers crossed).
The Law Of Attraction
So since my last post I’ve been heavily involved with the Law Of Attraction. For those of you that don’t know what it is- it is a mindset, that what you think about, you attract to yourself. If you think about positive things, your bring more positive things into your life. And the adverse- if you think about negative things, you bring more negative things into your life.
There is much more that is involved with this; from meditation, envisioning the future, controlling your feelings, and much much more.
If you want to learn more about The Law Of Attraction, watch the documentary- The Secret– it will give you a crash course, cliftnotes version.
An Attitude of Gratitude
Now on to the reason why I am writing today. One of the core principles of The Law Of Attraction is to be grateful for everything in your life- both big and small. Most people in America and western culture see things that others have, and wish that upon themselves. They want the nicer car, nicer clothes, a big house and more and more and more. But what they mostly forget, is that in order to bring these things into your life, you need to be grateful for what you have now.
“You have to think about what you have that you’re grateful for, it might be that you have the eyes to watch this. It might be the clothes you have, yes, you might prefer something else, and you might get something else pretty soon, if you start feeling grateful for what you have.”- Dr. Joe Vitale MSC. D.
Just because it is Thanksgiving, and we reflect on the things we are grateful for today, we should not let today be the only day we do so. Make sure you wake up everyday, grateful for the life you were given, grateful that you have a roof over your head, food in your stomach, and somebody that loves you. Don’t take these small things for granted, they are much greater and more powerful then you think.
Try and make it a habit to go through the things you are grateful for. Write them down while your having your cup of coffee. While your brushing your teeth in the morning, think about them, feel them, and truly be in a state of gratitude. Or put a small pennant in your pocket, and every time you touch it, think about all you have and be happy about it.
What I’m Grateful For
I am grateful for my family and friends- they are always there for me, helped me grow to who I am today.
I am grateful for my beautiful girlfriend- our love is uncommon.
I am grateful for my dog Dugan- who loves me unconditionally.
I am grateful for my truck- it gets me where I need safe and reliably.
I am grateful for The Law of Attraction- for always working, no exception.
I am grateful for my life and the source that gave me life- to make an impact in this world.
Place a comment below, and let me know what you are grateful for today. I would love to hear it.
I will leave off with one of my favorite songs from Damian Marley and Nas(saw them live at Camp Bisco several years ago)- Count Your Blessings
