What is your negative thought pattern that you keep repeating to yourself?
Brené Brown mentioned in her book “Daring Greatly” that we start this negative thought pattern as soon as we wake up. How many times have you uttered “I didn’t get enough sleep” and from that one thought, we set the tone of our day.
This negative thought pattern is what’s holding you back from achieving your true potential of abundance.
How To Stop These Negative Thoughts
- Be more conscious of what you’re telling yourself as soon as you wake up in the morning.
- Turn the negative into a positive thought. Example, instead of saying I didn’t get enough sleep last night, tell yourself I have enough energy to get through today. By changing what you’re telling yourself, you’re changing your outlook

Hey guys, it’s Allen.
In this video I’m gonna talk about an epidemic that’s sweeping or steadily increasing in society and the world and it has to do with “enough”.
And if I say “I’m not ______ enough”, what words fill that, fill that void for you?
Is it ‘good’ enough, ‘smart’ enough, ‘happy’ enough, ‘intelligent’ enough, ‘pretty’ enough? What is your negative thought pattern that you keep repeating to yourself? To think that you’re incapable of accomplishing whatever you want to get out of life?
Now this thought pattern is what I consider the bullshit. You have to turn that bullshit off and that is what’s stopping you and holding you back from your true potential of abundance.
And I was reading Brene Brown’s book called – what is it called – “Daring Greatly”. And in the book she said, we start this pattern as soon as we wake up in the morning and it’s totally true.
We wake up in the morning and we say to ourselves, “I didn’t get enough sleep”. Which then leads us to, “because I didn’t get enough sleep, I don’t have enough energy to get through the day.” Which then leads to, “I don’t have enough time in the day.”
When opportunities come up, I don’t have enough bandwidth or knowledge, or skills, or expertise, or money and we start this pattern as soon as we open our eyes in the morning and it’s true.
Everyone does it.
So what I want you to do is be more conscious of what you’re telling yourself as soon as you wake up in the morning. And maybe it’s switching that “I didn’t get enough sleep last night” to “I have enough energy to get me through everything that is going to come across or on my path today”.
And by changing that, you’re going to change your outlook and everything else that you’re telling yourself throughout the day.
So this is one step in turning off the bullshit and comment below. Let me know if you’ve realized that you’ve been telling yourself these false beliefs and what you’re going to change and if you’re going to change it.
