I hope you’re having a fabulous Friday, and I just wanted to make this short video because I reflected back on this past week.
We had such a great week with Best Self. I had a great week personally, and I started to map out why that is, and I wanted to share why my week was so incredible, and some things that I found that will help you to add a little boost to your goals and what you have planned for your life.
So, what happens when we start writing down goals? We write them down, they give us some juice, they give us some power, something to look forward to in the future, and we get excited but then what happens?
We actually start doing the work and you know, sometimes it just doesn’t juice us anymore, and we just get bogged down in work and in the process, and then we forget why we actually had this goal, and then the goal just becomes something that you do on repeat, or that you write down repetitively, and it doesn’t give you anymore fire.
So, one thing that I’d done for my Core Two goals.
So, I have all my goals written on my whiteboard, and I wrote them all out, and what I did this time was underneath each goal is I wrote why they’re important, why this goal, this number, this metric, this target that I’m aiming for is so important to me, my life, team, my family, my friends, my future, why is it important?
So, what I would love for you to do is to take some time to write out your goals, and if they haven’t been juicing you up recently, if they haven’t been inspiring for you to take action on, or if they just seem arbitrary or mundane now, actually write down why they’re important to you and what it would mean to you and your life, and the people that are affected by that goal, what it would mean to them if that goal is hit, if it’s achieved.
And what you’ll find is that when you operate in the why frame of mind, you will actually make progress quicker. You’ll actually get rejuvenated and reignite that fire that the goals used to give you but now it’s really the why that gives you the fire and the boost to hit that goal.
